1999 Audi A4 B5 2.4 V6? Am I the only one?

Hi everyone, I'm Andrew. I purchased the car just last week and thought I would join the forum, however I have searched and there is no mention of the 2.4ltr V6 engine anywhere?

as in, you mean theres no thread about the 2.4, well i think its a unpopular engine as its only a 12v motor were as the newer v6 is 30 valve, im sure people have them but this forum seems quite, could always try

hey thanks for the reply. However the 2.4 in the B5 is a 30 valve, will check out the other forums.

I have the 30 valve 2.4 v6 in my '52 cabriolet and I would agree that it never features very often but I think that may be because it never seems to go wrong or play up
I am on my second 2.4 30 valve and never had a hiccup

The 2.6 engine in the B5 platforms were 12v. 2.4 and 2.8's came in both 12v and 30v.

2.4's are very similar to the 2.8. they share alot of components between them. I believe there are more 2.8s out in the market than 2.4's but both are good, powerful engines and last forever if serviced regularly. If you do have any issues you want to search for, try searching for 2.8 instead of 2.4. Or if its just general info your after, then try wikipedia or vagcat.com

I was of the opinion that the 2.6 (abc) and 2.8 were the 12v motors and the later v6 's 2.4 and 3.0 were 30v

Just discovered that the 2.8 was 12v and later 30v but still seen no 2.4 12v
