I Recently fitted a fuel pump to my transporter as it had the fault code 00550 - Fuel from desired value , I started up and reved and drove fine for around 5miles then it stopped revving and went into limp mode,

Is there any other common faults which would cause this ? on number 5 injector it has a wire going to it( needle lift sensor) , would this cause a fault if this injector had gone down and not causing it to open the injector at the right time.

    Anyone know?

    Info on van

    2.5tdi
    transporter t4

Does anyone know how the needle lift sensor operates? and what it does?

Upon searching this code on auto-data is says the following could be the following, needle lift sensor, air in fuel lines, pump timing , fuel pump or wiring , I have put a pump on it and ran perfect for 5miles then went back into limp mode, checked the pump timing and it is spot on , no air in fuel system as i can see the fuel pipes going to pump, so the only cause i can think of is the needle lift sensor ,

    Engine code is ACV.

Had a diagnostic specialist out today and he checked to see if the operating of the need lift sensor was working, upon his diagnosis he stated the fuel pump was the course. Anyone know where i can get a fuel pump refurbed or sent away to be tested( not buying secondhand as already bought and was ******)
