Lambda Probe 1.6 petrol estate

Does anyone know if the 1.6 petrol estate have a rear lambda sensor, and has anyone fitted one of the £20 universal sensors off of Ebay - ie. are they any good? cheers.

Cannot answer for an Audi but (see my post Headache56) I got conflicting advice even from my Owners' Manual re my Passat. It seems that D4 compliant Turbo engines have 2 Lambda / O2 sensors but most / all other Passat engines do not.

Re the £20 universal sensors, the Haynes manual people advised me against it and at about £65 from GSF, it did not seem worth the risk.

Avoid the cheap lambda sensors, fit one from GSF as a minimum but buy a genuine one if you want it to work for more than a year and a bit-hint hint! If you want to know if your car has two, PM me your chassis number.
