    Hi,

in the process of replacing the timing belt and have become stuck with the crank locking tool.

Looking in the oil filler there is no OT (TDC) mark. The cam looks forged as there is no casting texture. The engine is the later BAU with rollers. There is a round circle at one point but when i go under to put the locking tool in there is nothing there.

Also the camshafts don't seem to be lining up either, the tools i have seem to wide.

    Any advise will help.

All ok now. Just had to keep rotating the crank with my finger in the hole until the locking hole came round. The cam locks went straight in too!

Replaced the cam belt kit, put back together, fired it up, strated first time. Just need to VAGCOM the timing in when it's warmed up tomorow.

    Thanks
