Can anyone who has front footwell lights tell me at what point do they come on? i.e. do they come on when the car is unlocked (day or night) or do they come on when the door (e.g. driver's) is opened? I'm trying to decide whether to go through the convenience module under the carpet or just feed off the door lights in the door card.

    Thanx.

I fed mine from the interior light so they come on when the light is activated or when a door is opened, trying to get a wire through from the door to the car is virtually impossible

Thanks for that. If going through the door route, how would you activate the footwell lights when inside with the doors shut? Any hints on doing it via the interior light?

they would only come on with the doors open, if you want towire from the interior light the you need to remove the light cluster and feed some bell wire between the headliner and roof from the drivers side pillar to the light cluster, i then pushed the wire behind the pillar trim using a plastic scraper and the down to the footwell wired them in parallel from one side to the other, if you go this route you will need which two wires to tap into. I cant remember which they are but could check for you, quite simple and very effective

Just found your post on it!

" was going to take the feed from the doors also until i saw the birdsnest of wiring at each door pillar. the wires from the door do not go straight through they go into some form of connector block and change colour, doing it this way means that you have to wire each side seperately and i wasnt feeling upto this. i removed the interior light cluster and took a feed from the wiring there, i can let you know which two wire colours you need if you want. then if you remove the centre sun flap above the mirror(1 screw) you can feed your wire in the headlining until you get to the pillar and then i pushed it between the screen and pillar until it reached the dash then fed it down to the drivers side footwell light first and then through to the other one in series. bobs your uncle no wires to be seen and both footwells light up whichever door is opened."

Can you tell me which 2 wires you used? Thanks.

Ive had a look and used these. it doesn't matter which you use for pos and neg but wire the footwell ones in parallel to get the same brightness at each side.
Footwell Lights "ON" with Interior light:
Based on the Interior Light connector and if you want the footwell lights to come on with the interior light then use Pin 3 (red/yellow) and Pin 10 (red/white) - these connections are effectively across the Interior light bulbs of the roof light, so run these wires to all your footwell lights in parallel.

Thanks for that. When you unlock the car (day or night), do the footwell lights come on as well as the interior lights?
