Hello everyone. Just bought an "57" 1.9 tdi se with all the goodies, with 93 k on the clock and full audi fsh.
Is there anything i need to watch out for i.e injectors or oil pump failures- or anything else.
Any advise will be gladly taken .

Injector and oil pump problems apply to the 2.0tdi and not the 1.9, AFAIK. So you can feel justifiably smug and relax a little

Seriously, the 1.9 is well proven. Change the oil regularly and you should be fine. Enjoy!

good choice mate.i had mine for 4 years now and no major problems so far.gearbox on mine is a bit s..t but apart from that is a great car.i had mine mapped from 115 to 145 and i just love it.the thing i did when i bought it was to take it off the long life bull...t service and now change everything myself every 7000 miles.i have just completed a 1700 mile journey(one that i take every year) in just under 2 days.and will be doin" the same next week for my return trip.Enjoy your new car.

Not 100% sure, but I believe that's right. I think the 2.0pd 140 had a dpf option, it was standard on the 170s... and the 1.9s never had them. But I'm willing to be proved wrong!

1.9TDI PD 115 engines are pretty strong and reliable. I've seen a few with over 200k miles on them and still running really well.

Main things to check are to make sure the timing belt (cambelt) service is carried out on time. Recommend changing the water pump and thermostat at the same time.

Thanks for that. Our passat tdi 130 had waterpump failure at around 140k miles.
The PLASTIC impellor, not metal, fell off.

I had the car remaped at 67000 miles by cc tunning which is a sponsor here.only went for stage one which takes the car to about 145 bhp which i think is enough.there are a few tunners out there such as superchips who will push the car as far as 160 bhp.i got mine done in april this year and still lovin the extra power.fuel consumption has improved too.i have since than covered about 6000 miles with no problems whatsoever.just make sure your cambelt and water pump are in good condition or have been replaced recently.

i know mine hasn't got one after looking in the hayes manual and i am sure that goes for all 1.9 engines on the b7.
