All genuine fuel filters seem to be made in China. If “Made in China” bothers you that much you had better not buy a Bugati Veyron, the wheels are made there. Take a wheel off many late model Audis and you will find “Made in China” on the back and that is line fit parts on a new car.

If you started to boycott stuff made in China (&the far east) then you'd not buy anything.

Why do people have such an issue with Chinese made stuff? It isnt all cheapo crap you know!

Very much so and have been for years, they work with two partners, some of the stuff they still make is cool http://www.vw.com.cn/en.html like old Passats and the old Jetta 2. I would love to bring some of the weird stuff over.

that would explain why audi are not very reliable any more, cheap and nasty parts and cars being made in china.my point is guys what i,m saying is that when you take out the old filter to see a well made part made in germany and then take out the new part which looked of poor quality made in china, one would expect the same quality part to go back in,surely i,m not the only one who thinks this is wrong, now we know why audi,s are not as reliable as they used to be correct, maybe its cos there are to many parts on there cars being of poor guality.have a pop at me feel free just giving my opinion thats all.

Oh dear. How could you tell by looking at the part that it was inferior quality to the old one you removed?! How do you quantify that "Audi are not very reliable anymore" - ALL car marques have problems none are fault free are they?

My iphone is made in china and it's been faultless. NOT all Chinese(far eastern) stuff is rubbish and NOT all German made stuff is perfect.

I'll wager there isn't a single car maker who doesn't use any Chinese (or far eastern) parts.

Just because it's made in China it doesn't necessarily mean poor quality, as long as the quality control is good that shouldn't be a problem with inferior parts. I work in the motorcycle trade and this has been going on for a while with the big four Japanese manufactures.
