Hi, wonder if anyone could help. I've just bought an 09 plate A6. It has the MMI interface and a button for Nav but when i click it it says Satellite Navigation is not available. Does anyone know if its possible to get it enabled or retro-fitted or do i need to live with my garmin? Would be great if it could be somehow enabled. Many thanks. Robert

You first need to check whether you have a Sat Nav Drive. These are usually in the boot or glovebox and have navigation written on them. Assuming you have not got this drive, it is relatively straightforward to get one installed and configured for your car. I reckon on about £500 second hand for the unit. You already have all the pre rerquisites for it.

If the drive is present, either the disc is missing or there is a fault with it.

If you bought the car from Audi, and it was described as having Sat Nav, I would take it straight back and ask them to have a look.

I thought sat nav was standard on the Le Mans spec, so you should have it.

Definitely doesn't have it and when i took to the Audi dealer they gave me printout of the spec which says 'NO SATELLITE NAVIGATION'. There is a button for SAT on the centre console but when you press it it says SATELLITE NAVIGATION NOT AVAILABLE. In the glovebox is a single CD with 2 media card slots. The screen is color. Do you think it's just a case of replacing the CD in the glovebox with a NAVIGATION version or more to it than that? thx, Robert

The Sat Nav system is DVD based so you'll need the DVD player. There are a few always knocking about on ebay. In mine I have the DVD Sat Nav player, and the CD changer unit as well as the SD card slots.
