I've recently purchased the updated tensioner and the shorter belt for a '93 2.6. This is the same tensioner as on later models. On mine, the original hole in the block does not align with the locating 'pin' on the back of the new tensioner.

It appears I need to drill a new hole at about 3 - 5 o'clock from the main bolt hole....

I've just tried at 5 o'clock and hit a coolant channel...

Could somebody please tell me where the hole is on the newer versions of the 2,6 motor
... or if someone has done the update, where they drilled.


Also whats the best way to plug the hole in the coolant jacket - oh joy....
