    Hi All

I have just purchased a 2008 B8 after some kind soul broke into my house while we were asleep and stole my B7 and my dad's C- Class. I'm happy with the car and I think it's a big step up from my B7.

Although one thing is bugging me, The Climate Control makes a clicking noise when it is on, this gets faster and slower with the fan speed so I am guessing it's related to the fans in some way. I did a bit of investigating and realised the noise was coming from the passenger footwell. I then removed some foam trim from behind under the glove box and have noticed the noise is coming from the part pictured below, does anyone know what it is, or what could be causing the clicking noise?

Would it be a lot to fix?

    thanks in advanxe

I had that noise for a while coming from the same place although it went away by itself. I would say thats the fan housing in your picture but i am no expert!

Hi, did you ever find the source of it or find a way to fix it? I noticed my A4 has developed the same clicking noise, faster/slower depending on the fan speed - it's beginning to really get on my nerves!!

    Any info greatly appreciated.

Hi mate, strangly enough, no i didn't and it has just seemed to go away like the posters above did! I still hear it faintly sometimes before starting up the engine, and if i pressed my ear against the pictured part i would be able to hear it. but nothing like it was, i used to turn the fan speed down on the motorway cos it was that annoying! But in normal driving i cant hear it at all now. strange! good luck

Hi there, I had a similar problem, turned out to be a bracket holding one of the motors in place had broke causing the motor to jump and make the clicking noise. Try searching for "clicking from air vents" to see the thread.
