    Hi,i have a 54 plate 2.0 SDI.
Was wondering if this is chain or belt driven.
    Engine code is BDK.

    Cheers

A belt, every 4 years or 120000Km/ 74565 miles. Great care must be taken when refitting the engine mount bracket on a BDK engine, they have a terrible habit of the upper rear block bolt location lug snapping off which means the other two bolts fail and the engine collapses on to the inner wing. The bolts securing the bracket MUST be replaced and MUST be evenly and carefully torqued up to 40 Nm + 1/2 turn (180°) further. The only way to repair this failure is to replace the engine block so in other words, a new engine. I have seen these fail spontaneously without even being touched on low mileage four year old cars.
