Hi, Ive got 2.0 tdi 170 -92000 miles

About a week ago I started noticing that it didn't feel quite right, a bit slow of the line and there seemed to be more turbo lag than usual. Eventually the DPF light came on and as I got to the m6 to give it a run it went into limp mode and the glow plug light started flashing. After about 20 miles in limp with the dpf light not going off I pulled off the motorway swithchd of engine and back on. Lights were now off and it was out of limp.

Took it to my garage who read fault codes and diagnosed a faulty maf sensor so I had it replaced ( which the warranty company have now refused to pay for but I won't go into that). The car still feels wrong though, theres a load of turbo lag. The dpf lights just come on for the third time this week, although as I had to stop before going for a regen run, when I turned the engine back on the DPF light was back off.

Other things I have noticed are; there seems to be more black smoke, but I don't know if thats just because I'm paying more attention and looking for things and just occassionally the car seems to stutter when the revs are held constant below 2000rpm.

    Any suggestions guys?

I'm reluctant to take it straight back down the garage because I've got to find the cash to fork out for the bill which the warranty company are trying to wriggle out of.

    Cheers.

Sounds like your garage doesn't know what its doing. I believe they might be mis-interpreting a fault code for pressure difference sensor (whats probably wrong with your vehicle), for a Mass Air Flow sensor (what they've needlessly replaced).
I would suggest you ask your garage to see if they have replaced the DPF pressure sensor. If they look at you blankly - consider taking it to someone who knows what they're doing.

I would argue that your repairer have replaced an item that they mis-diagnosed and you should not pay. ( I have a feeling they're only competent to working on cars from the 80s/90s from what I've grasped so far). Its not your problem.
