Hi all! Newbie here from another site hoping to gain more in site to the mods and coding I am trying to do on my 2012 CC Sport.

I am currently looking to retro fit front fog-lights and rear fog lights. Trouble is 2012 has an all new CECM and to boot, the factory schematic of the electronics is not matching up with the cars CECM wiring.

I have been able to set some codes but basically I am stuck as to why this is not working.

So before I elaborate, I wanted to see if anyone out there can shed some light on this. I know the pin/slot numbers to an extent and I know some of the coding as well but something is missing too, just can;t figure that out.

    Hi,

We spoke in the VW Vortex but this is a better area for the rear fog light. For reference the other thread and wiring notes are here:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...agCom-for-2012

You may want to post the original (factory) coding of the 09 module and the final (current) coding here for easy reference in this thread.

I couldn't help but notice this scan and Byte 18:

    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ssat-CC-MY2011

I suggested Byte 18 from 7C to 7D but that other vehicle has 76 and I'd assume that was stock since the inquiry was inside / foot-well lighting. You may ask and see if that CC has a factory rear fog and if so, see what happens with that coding.

    -Dana

Hey Dana, yeah another Vortex member suggested over here may be a better source.

It is looking more like a Byte 18 configuration and yes, I did try the 7C to 7D with no results. I got a hold of a 2012 R-Line scan 09 module and it is similar except for the secondary coding.

Here is what I posted on the Vortex board to you:

2012 R-Line CC with factory installed fogs:

Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: None

...and here is mine 2012 CC Sport without factory fogs:

    Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: 3AA-937-087.clb

    Subsystem 2 - Part No: 1K0 955 559 AH
    Component: RLS 270111 05 54 0403
    Coding: 0330ED

    No fault code found.

The coding is pretty much the same except for about 4 Bytes which I was able to understand what options which Bits were checked and unchecked. I think only one did not match up.

The CECM part numbers are identical except for the last letter of mine having an "A" and the R-Line having a "B". Researched this and found they are identical CECM units, nothing different. I believe the "B" part number replaced mine after production date 5-10-10. My car was built on 10-10-10 and there were changes I believe.

Byte 18 and HEX is the same for both cars.

What is different is the second set of coding of the one coding that has the boxes checked but no information regarding what they are for...this is what I spoke of to you before. Could this be the key to how and why the fogs work on the R-line and not the Sport due to coding issues?

The last part of the coding looks to be the same in 09 section.

I think we are getting close or are least going in the right direction.

What is you take on this?

Anyone have an full scan of a 2012 R-Line for comparison purposes? I would really like a VIN number more so for reasons of researching CECM model numbers and options in regards to retro fitting my fogs on my 2012 Sport. What I am thinking is that the CECM modules on the R-Lines come installed with different options/programing for the factory installed fogs. I think all 2012 CC's have wiring for those options to an extent but it is mainly the pins/slots on the CECM and programing that determine the output for the models.
