  1. 1.9 TDi Loss of power

Before you all say it - I've replaced it already ! Ok!!! (MAF that is!)

It's a lot better than it used to be - almost 100% uptime on the turbo - however, occastionally it still drops out and I have to pull over and restart the engine to clear it.

From experience - what's the next most common item for this??

My Garage's "code reader" came up with "inlet manifold presure regulating device", but VW don't know wha this is!! Any ideas?

I've had the error codes cleared out by VW, and will wait to see if this re-appears

The loss of power is a little odd. Usually happens when cold, though has once or twice happend after it's been running for quite a while.

When I accellerate up hill, the turbo cicks in, drops out then kicks in again, all within half a second.

Once it's dropped out fully, it stays out until I stop and restart the engine.

    Anyone got any pointers please?

The car seems to be bahaving properly now - and I've not had the turbo drop out at all in the last week. (kiss of death!)

The turbo pressure sensor sounds like the probable cause.
This is probably the second most common fault to the maf sensor that can cause the type of power loss you are talking about.
This is usually located on the plastic intake pipe attached to your inlet manifold.

    Hope this helps!

Yes the N75 could be the problem.

Icitis, do you have the specific numeric code as that will help more.

    Look here at one solution

more codes here associated with charge pressure

Is it possible for either faulty N75 valve to not show a fault code ?. I ask this as I am experiencing a loss of power in my own car-a Passat TDI Sport. Not had VAG COM done yet but the AA has used their own kit to check for a reading.
