Last year I bought a Bora V6 4MOTION (thirsty as hell but great fun.) Once the engine is switched off, (having warmed up), a recurrent clicking noise, a bit like a rapid, single tone geiger-counter, can be heard coming from the engine bay. It lasts for about ten minutes after the engine's turned off and will stop instantly if the ignition is turned back on. It's been the same since I bought it and unless I'm being paranoid, has got louder. A mate who had a Golf 4MOTION said it's normal as his car had it too. It's not the cooling fan which will run on after stopping if the engine's too hot. I can find no reference to it in the books or on the web. Before I take it to a dealer, can any of you guys furnish me with an answer to this conundrum?

By the way great site and my Bora leaks too.

They have a secondary electric water pump that runs on after engine switch off. It is probably that.
