Engine code fault p0015???? Help please a4 3.0 quattro

Hi folks i have a 2002 3.0l v6 quattro, i havent had it that long about 6 weeks. Yesterday i had the engine management light come on, i managed to borrow a vag code reader and got a p0015 code. the book says camshaft position actuator b-bank 1 timing over retarded...... it has had according to the service history a cambelt change at 80k miles and its currently on 89k miles. I am reading online problems with incorrectly fitted timing belts but i would imagine if a car has done 9k miles since the belt change a timing issue would of come up before? Coincidentally it is noisy on tick over, with the bonnet down it sound like possibly loud pulley bearing as it disappears with the engine reving but with the bonnet up does sound a little ruff almost diesel like but pulls like a train and i wonder if i am just imagineing it. Does anyone have any ideas? I have cleared the code and so far no more light and the light actually turned itself off anyway so is it likely to just be a glitch???
