A4 Remote locking problem

Good afternoon everyone..im new to the forum and audi in general.Ive just bought an A4 cabriolet 1.8t sport,05'plate.Nice car lovely to drive and look at!..just a problem with the remote locking.When it doesnt work which now is more often than not i open the car from the offside lock,put the key in the ignition and the central locking operates.Sometimes when i remove the key and try the remote it will unlock and lock the car?..i have read about resyncing and have tried this.It did work a couple of times but the key dropped out shortley after?..i'm thinking remote key at fault,any idea's,thanks alot,jonathan.

Have you got a spare or tried changing the battery?

not got a spare expept the plastic blade..changed the battery,seemed ok but failed again!
