hi, can anyone give me any info on the audi s2 (awd) quatro system,
what is the torque split? 50/50?
    what make r the diffs?
are the diffs open? or lsds?
what hp can the gearbox take? can it take big power? and 6-700rpm launches?

any info on the audi awd system would be much appreciated. thanks

The torque split is 50/50 but varies as necessary to obtain grip. The centre diff is a torsen, the rear is manual locking, which disengages at 15mph.
The gearboxes stand up to a lot of power, but from what I've read, they do not like being shock loaded when transmitting a lot of power.
E.g. on a smooth dragstrip, 500hp might be fine, but if there was a bump that caused wheelspin then grip is re-established, 350hp might be enough to break something. 034efi have a highly modified 20v turbo that puts approx 750 hp to the wheels through a modified 6 speed quattro box. They were using standard 5 speeds up to approx 500 wheel hp, but breakages started ocurring.

It's an 01E, comes in the RS2 and 2.7 biturbo S4. The gears and I think the shafts are cryogenically (is that a real word?) treated.

The rocco blew up on Sunday, I saw it.
The original UR quattro box will take more power than either S2 gearbox.
My mate runs the Dubweiser golf and that puts out 648bhp at the wheels with one fitted.

The UR is a model, as in UR quattro the original 4WD rally car.
He has a custom made input shaft which costs a grand as he was always breaking it when he got traction going into forth. He has not broken anything since having that made.
