    Hello everyone,

1st post so please be gentle - I'm used to forums as I'm an Event Organisor over on IMOC (International MR2 OC) - where untill recently i had a 1999 rev5 Turbo - over 300WHP / 280ft/lbs torque...

Due to a back injury i had to let the gokart go and have now purchased a 2003 A4 2.4l V6Sport

I have a couple of questions as I might be going down the modification route again
Nothing as silly as i did with the MR.... (he says! )..

but i have a couple of things i would like to do and wondered if any kind ouls could answer my Q's or point me to a thread with the answers..

number 1. Would changing the exhaust system to a freeflowing Stainless custom jobbie (hayward and scott) improve performance on an NA ? - would the sound of a V6 improve - it seems Extremely muted with it's factory exhaust... shame.. I'm not after a barryboy exhaust .. but a little grumble to know it's there would be nice

number2. My docs say "sport" and it has the TT alloys on (18" x 225's all round) - while i quite like the feel and the cornering - are there any spring kits available to reduce the ride height on the front.. there is a LARGE gap between tyre and arch compared to the rear. (rear looks spot on)

number 3. got a cat pee smell in the cabin.. but I've serched and found the answer to that one

number 4. On cold start up only.. for about 1 second (as the car roars from it's slumber) it's now sounding like a diesel As i say it's only for like 1 second... and does not make a sound on startup when warm or when car is running.. just cold startup... any ideas - or should is just get one of those diagnostic tools off ebay ??

thanks for any replies... I'll be seraching round some more and look forward to using this forum as much as i did / do with IMOC

    cheers
    Frank.

Indeed i am the Lenso Fizz chap.. lol

Im now (as of a week or so ago) a Bora TDi 115bhp Sport chap...

Just in the process of selling my VTi before i can transfer the insurance over.

And nope... cant help you with your questions as i aint got a clue about VW's... (at the moment hehe)

This forum seems lively and friendly which is great. Just not as free as the IMOC jobbie as its more family orientated... so dont go posting like Harry! lol

    1. I'd love to hear a V6 with sports exhaust too as I've been contemplating a Miltek. Initially though I intend to get a K+N filter as I hope this will give a bit of an induction growl.

    2. That sounds all wrong. I just searched for "2.4" and "2003" on autotrader and there were a couple of sports on there. All had the lowered suspension and I have to say it looked pretty even to me (hopefully this link will work)-

Might be that you shocks/springs have been replaced with the wrong sort?

    4. Tappet rattle? I've only had my 3.0 V6 for a week so am not an expert by any means. However, every VW I've ever had has had it at some point or other.
