Yep, BM will be offering four wheel drive option on the new 3 series from about November this year. Seemingly northern BM dealers have been putting great pressure on for this as they are taking a caning from Audi in their area

I'm sure BMW will do a good job too, but it will still not be an Audi and I believe its still the case that there are more new BMW 3 series than Ford Mondeo's.

I prefer to be a little different!

I'm still tempted by BMW, never driven one. I refused to testdrive one when I was looking for a new car. Hated the 3 series look, if they improve the looks, it might be my next target when I tire of my A4.
BTW, what's the point of the X1 or X6?

I don't see the point in any SUVs for the money they sell at, and that includes Audi- if I was forced to have a 4x4 it would have to be something from Land Rover like a Discovery. Seriously how often do people go off road properly?- be better off getting an Allroad or similar.

Has it not crossed BMW's mind that people are getting into Audi because of a number of reasons other than quattro? Namely BMWs are butt ugly lol

I needed an estate and the Touring was too small. The massive wheel arches and the rake of the rear door and general lack of space ruled it out.

So even if they do an AWD version I still won't get a 3 series!

Not to mention that 3 series are a total traffic-cop magnet...as every boy racer seems to get one. At least Audi still have a touch of class about them!

I've owned a BMW and I also know a lot of people who own/have owned one. Every one of us has found them to be horribly unreliable - I dont think I'd but another one.

I owned a 123D BMW before my A4 3.0tdi and it was a great car. i did nearly 60K miles in it and it never missed a beat. The handling was much nicer than my A4, even if it it didn't quite have he grip and performance of the 3.0tdi Audi. One of the few disappointments was the fuel consumption on the motorway. Around town the efficient dynamics work beautifully, but at 'motorway speeds' I got similar economy to my much bigger and heavier Audi. I think much of this is down to the low gearing of the 123D (and it's weight, which is nearly the same as my A4!!!). It was about 32mph/1000 rpm as I recall. Oh and it was never what you would call a 'looker'
A4 3.0TDi S Line, Manual, Quartz Grey, Tech pack High (AMI, Parking Plus), Full ADS + Sports Diff, Sound Pack, 18" 5 spokes, Storage Pack, Interior light pack, Folding mirrors, Heated Front Seats, TPM, Hill Hold.
