Call VOSA. The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and even told me the names of the VW customer service reps I should speak to who have been appointed to handle this issue. (Lorraine is one of them, I recall). He confirmed there is now an agreement in place to sort this issue out.

Got home from work tonight, and found that I had an e-mail back from VOSA, its the same content really as on the front page letter about concerning the Audi A3 but, this might give the others some info to work on......

PASSAT –ENGINE CUT OUT FUEL INJECTOR FAILURE

Thank you for notifying the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) of the problems experienced with your vehicle. I can confirm the investigation into this fault has been completed.

Following detailed negotiations between VOSA and the manufacturer, it has been agreed the Volkswagen Group will:

    1. Contact you personally to arrange for all the vehicle’s injectors to be replaced and ensure you are 100% satisfied.
2, Reimburse customers who have paid for new injectors even if the work was completed outside of their authorised network

If you have any concerns or questions about this matter, you should contact the Volkswagen Group Customer centre. If necessary, they will arrange to have your vehicle inspected at an authorised repairer free of charge.

VOSA will continue to work closely with the Volkswagen Group to ensure that this issue is concluded as swiftly as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

Please do not hesitate to contact me on the below telephone number if there are any further points you wish to discuss.

    Yours sincerely

    Keith Southerton

Thanks for the rapid replies . Will contact vosa tomorrow . Must say how disappointed I was in the local service manager when I phoned, he treated me like a real dunce and then went on to say that people coming onto forums saying they have had injectors changed before failure were not telling the truth .

Hi, just got my car back from Alan Day, 4 injectors replaced + wiring loom foc, they were a bit surprised that vw pays for that without fault detected.

A mate of mine has just told me that he contacted VW over the 2 injectors he replaced and they are replacing the remaining 2 and the loom as well as refunding him what he paid out for the injectors - worth a call to VW....

Got my car back last night with 4 nice new injectors and wiring loom. The car does feel different, but that could be just down to the fact that I no longer have that nagging concern in the back of my mind wondering if the engine will suddenly cut out.

    Very happy...

For those having problems with customer services, vosa gave me the following alternative number to call:

    0800 083 3914

Picked mine up today, not sure if I can feel any difference, tbh

They didn't give me any paperwork for the work carried out, saying it was 'all on the system'...

    First phoned VW yesterday.
Call returned this morning, confirming that dealer would call me.
Dealer called me within an hour or two.
Car going in on Tuesday for inspection.
Delaer has been instructed to change the injectors if they are of the offending type.
Based on it being a 2007 PD engined car with a BKP engine code, it seems fairly certain.

    P.S. No breakdowns.

Actually, the more I drive it the more it does feel quicker on the pick up

That could be some kind of placebo, though
