Good morning folks hope someone may be able to help.

I have just order my new works lease car. Its a B7 Passat S 2.0 diesel in mocca anthracite. Only extras we are allowed to put on is sat nav and bluetooth. I asked for the RNS 510 but work would only let me have the RNS 315 option.

I would like to retro-fit the RNS 510 when the car is delivered in 4-5 months!!

I have seen that it can be done but is it a case of plug and play or will it be a bit trickier than that? With the bluetooth unit being specced with the car will it be the same bluetooth unit I need for the 510 or will it be another unit I have to buy.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

Buy an aftermarket, go for one that doesn't tilt the face out with a hidden cd slot, this way you will pay a lot less for it, it will do a lot more and you can swap it into another car later with only a loom and faceplate to find for, the OEM look ones are basically one car models and need to stay with the car unless it fits the next car, which it won't because VAG will have re-designed the dash by then, hth.
