oil leak from turbo

I found out yesterday that I have an oil leak from turbo. How long before I need a new turbo and what will the cost be?

They all do that, don’t worry about it until it starts going into limp mode. To have the blower pulled, rebuilt and refitted should cost you around £850 tops.

Is their anything I can do about leak in advance? or is it a case of wait and see to see if oil goes more and more?

How many litres of oil are you putting in per 1000 miles?

Unless the floor looks like this after disconnecting the lower intercooler hose, you have nothing to worry about.

Yes, have a look but how much oil is it using?

at moment use of oil seems normal to me

Then I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I have seen two year old cars with less than 20k on them with oil dripping off the turbo and charge air cooler connections. Some comes from the turbo, some from the breather and unless you are using a noticeable amount of oil, there is nothing to worry about.
