RCD 300 problem

Hi, I have a 07 passat 2.0l TDI with a RCD 300 radio fitted,, last week the radio started to turn itself on??,, (not in a sexual way,,lol) but every time i switch the radio off it turns on again straight away, makes no difference with key in or out, is there a fix or do i need an upgrade?,, also what can i upgrade to without the need to change the canbus, (because i heard about battery drain issues), the wife as a 120 mile round trip & is saying its boring without the radio,, I have taken the fuse out of the back of the radio so it doesnt flatten the battery, all advice, help very much appreciated.

Is there a CD in the slot? I did read somewhere that this can happen on some units if a cd is not present and the unit thinks it has been removed and switches to Radio mode.

it switches on by itself with or without cd in slot,, as soon as i switch it off, it turns back on,, bloody nuisence it is,,lol

hi peeps,, can i fit a rcd 510 into my 07 passat,, what else do i need to make it work without problems ? cheers
