Hi just done a 180 mile non stop trip back from Cornwall on the A30 and M5, with no problems what so ever. The A30 as one may know is up hill and down dale, and the car coped fine all the way in top gear.

As I approached my home, which is on a estate with plenty of speed humps one rarely gets out of first and the clutch began to slip in first gear.

I parked up and unloaded and then tried to pull away with the handbrake on, and it stalled with no slip.

Anyone any ideas what is going on? A tad concerned as I need the car next week for another journey.

2002 B6 A4 1.9TDi Avant 100, full Audi service history with just 53K on the clock, my last 130TDi still had the original clutch at 100K

Thanks in advance for any replies!

If its stalling on the handbrake it s got plenty of meat on it,maybe the slave cylinder had a hissy fit and didn't release fully,I wouldn't panic just yet ,monitor the situation.

mines been doing this for a long time, at first i was corcerned the clutch was worn out or worse the dmf was faulty or worn, anyway i think heat buildup in the gearbox and engine bay moving at slower speeds may be in effect and as already said mine has been doing it for several thousand miles and still going strong, msg to self was if its not broke dont find problems to fix it will be expensive lol
