sounds like bearing, my previous audi went at 110k, mind you this was a turbo quattro sport. bearing came back @ aprox £20 each or so and took 45 mins to do each side, as if 1 side had gone, the other is not far behind. if you take a left, you load the left side with thrust, this puts stress on the bearing and allows the right side to be less loaded. The roll bar bushes wont cause a grind, they would cause a knock...

how much mileage has you car done? the time it takes to do 1 side, and if you are going to keep the vehicle, might as well do the other.. make sense.

I have similar symptoms, I have a slight scuffing sound from both sides when turning each way ????? I am not sure if it is wheel bearings or brake discs scuffing had new pads and discs (Audi dealer ) , had not deteriorated much in the last 3 months??? doesn't sound like a wheel bearing whine ,but it is a scuffing type sound.
    any ideas ??
    regards Trevor.
