Anyone know where the best place is to get A4 Saloon boot lid? Don't mind if its second hand or different colour as long as its in London somewhere?
I've tried a few breakers and they don't have any stocked.
Anyone got or know of spares?

The is all to do with the problem I had with my boot lock not releasing, even when trying to operate it manually from behind the panels.
Only solution the garage suggested is to cut around the lock which means i need a whole new boot

    thanks

Seems a bit drastic! Have a word with a local locksmith he might be able to drill out the old one's barrel then get a new barrel for it. worth a phone call. There again try another garage with someone that Knows, or if you're in the AA or RAC or similar why don't you hand the problem over to them.

There's got to be an easier way than cutting the actual boot open!!! If you've got the panels off you must be able to unscrew the latch ?!?!?

    Finally got it open.

si69jc - Unfortuantely I couldnt even get inside to take any panels off as I have a saloon and no drop down seats. Had to work from the outside only. but eventually had to unscrew the latch but still wasnt easy to get to

I called AA to give it a try and after an hour of work he finally got it open.
It wasnt straight forward though and he said its the first that he's seen it so jammed up.

I previously took it to a garage to cut a flap behind the number plate to get to the lever so AA had to use that to get access to the mechanisim.
Pulling the lever manually still didnt open the boot.
Eventually had to remove the clips/lever and all the screws so that he could get to the lock at the bottom.
Turns out part of the plastic locks/clips had broken off and got wedged so couldnt release the latch.
