    Hi,
I've done around 2k and the digital oil level indicate around a quarter of oil used but topping up around 300ml made it show Full. I seriously don't trust the accuracy as it's not good if you run too low or overfill! Has anyone got the same concerns and managed to source a dip. Stick from a reputable company?

    Thanks

I tried to find one recently too, but with no luck. I did find a link to a co. in the USA, but it would cost around £50 with postage/taxes etc, and i didn't fancy paying that!!

Passat Blumotion is exactly right length, but needs a little rib filing off the collar. I tried one the other month.

Early B8 is too long as the dipstick tube length got shorter when they hid the tube under the engine cover.

They are only about a tenner to buy

    That sounds fine to me

The Oil Level gauge is not like the fuel tank gauge; it shows the top 1 litre of oil (not the total sump contents) so if you were showing roughly ¾ on the gauge - 300ml would take it to the top and be fine.

When the gauge gets to the bottom; you'll get the 'Add oil, max. 1L' on the DIS display. I've had that, but added only 500ml and the AMI screen does indeed show ½. Adding the remaining 500ml took mine to the top so I've every confidence in the gauge being accurate.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that! Lucky I didn't go for the full litre, should read the manual then...

    Many thanks

Does anyone know if there is a part no. for the dipstick for a A4 B8 2010 TFSI, the MMI display for the oil in my car is all over the place. The readings can move up or down by 2 bars on the display while parked and the engine switched off, it can go both up and down just depends on how it's feeling. I would realy like to get hold of a dipstick as I don't trust the MMI display. I was even parked at the dealers with a service rep when it moved by one bar, but was told that it was normal(yeh right).

Anyone able to help, I am sure Audi have had lots of issues with this and must have a dipstick available for the 2.0 TFSI.
    Thanks

I don't know why it would move while you view the mmi as the digital gauge samples the oil level only occasionally I'm told. Have you had the actual gauge checked.?

I have a 2008 170BP TDI S-line. The oil level display was working normally , showing full following the last oil change for about 2000 miles. Recently its telling me to drain the oil and is not showing a level. I service myself but have not had the service indicator reset. I only reset the oil change interval. Can anyone tell me if they are related or is there some other problem.

    Thanks Tom

Just to let everyone know, I have an Audi A4 B8 2009 2.0TDI Engine, i have done my research just like everyone else about this annoying dipstick issue. My dipstick tube is located underneath engine cover with a plug.

I found a solution at long last!!!!

I purchased this dipstick which was perfectly correct for my vehicle on eBay- CLICK HERE

Now I can always check my oil level on both MMI and manually finally.
