Hey Guys, I hope you can help me. I've just bought my missus a mk5 Golf Sport Edition in Black, which we love.

We have one problem with it, the heater controls where you select windscreen / face / floor etc.... doesnt appear to work. No matter which direction i pick, it always blows towadrs the floor. I suspect the knob isnt working.

I am able to twist the knob around in circles, but i dont know whether this is correct or not, as some cars do allow this.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what the problem may be? Could it be a loose electrical conection, fuse, or dodgy knob controller??

    Thanks Tom

I think you need to go behind the knob and check it out, it is mechanical. All you need is a trim tool and a torx 20 size screwdriver. If you need detail PM me with an email adress to send you a couple of jpegs.

I had this happen to me.

Basically take your CD player out. (Plenty of guides arround).

Behind the CD Player there are load of wires, ignore them
Theres a Spring like door stopper kinda thing. Thats the bit that needs to connect onto the heater nob.
