If its the same lock mechanism as on the b6 there isnt a fuse (not that i could find anyway) and its a known fault that the locks fail, there should be a panel for the warning triangle in the boot trim open it and pull the red pull cord to open it then speak to dealer for new mechanism, they are about £35. and twenty minutes to fit

The release mechanism is operated by a micro switch that lives under the rubber pad that makes up the boot release button. It's quite common for water to find it's way to these switches through either a ripped rubber pad or leaking boot seal or wash wipe pipe.

There are members on here who have replaced the switch with a DIY solder job from the likes of maplin for a few pennies. Or you could go cap in hand to Audi. I've not bothered with either as there's two buttons and one of mine still works (for now!) plus there's a button on the remote.
