    Hi all

I am new to the Passat world, i have just deserted the Audi A4 camp.

Had the car 24 hours and so far love it, it is a 2009 (58) 2.0 tdi sport estate (170) in dark grey.

Love the toys and have been playing with the controls for the coming home and leaving home options, i have Auto lights and have enabled both to come on for 20s.

Leaving home works fine but i cant get the coming home option to work... What is the procedure to follow for this to work. I did not get an owners manual with the car need to go back and collect it sunday. I tried to connect my VAGCOM but it wont access the car for some reason.

Hope you can help and look forward to being able to contribute on this section.

    Regards

    Jon

A little different as i am in a B7 but hey take the panels off the outside and we have the same car. ;-)

My coming home function lights up front, rear and wing mirror puddles when i take the key out and open door, it will stay lit up for 20 seconds or until i lock the car then they all go out. So if i am right next to it and lock it after 2 seconds lights go out.

I think this was set up by VW to work best with keyless entry where you do just get out and walk away with no locking, however its the first thing i do when i get out being on the standard key.

    Hi there and welcome.
In order for the coming home function to work, you have to "flash" the headlight stalk when you remove the key from the ignition and before you open the door.
I think this is correct but I cant check as I am away from the car at the moment.
The coming home function is not completely automatic.
    I dont understand this myself.
    Hope this helps.
