A3 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) Fault and others

Hi guys,

I have run a scan on my Audi A3 8P 2.0tdi Quattro and I have 3 fault codes present

17057 - Cylinder 3 Glow Plug Circuit (Q12): Electrical Fault
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) 012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
01316 - ABS Control Module 013 - Check DTC Memory

My full scan is listed below

Fault 01435 highlighted ne to the fact there was an issue as the ESP light remains constant on the dashboard. I have viewed the blocks associated with the brake pressure and the sensor is out of range as it is displaying "214.83 bar Brake Pressure Sensor"

The brake pedal switch is functioning correctly.

are these faults coincedental or is there maybe a wiring harness issue? any ideas?

I am resigned to the fact that the pressure sensor in the ABS pump has failed but I am hoping maybe the settings have just been lost and need to be re-applied.

Any help would be beneficial

Basic settings can be reset and the brake pressure switch is one of them
That said i suspect your right and the fault lies in the unit some of these sensors are actually external and available seperatly you may be lucky

It used to mean a new ABS unit at around a grand but there is now a repair kit available from the dealer which is around £200 but great care must be taken during instillation as it is easy to damage the kit and many of these kits are currently on back order due to demand.

thanks for the replies guys.

Yes the sensor is internal I have a Mk60ATE ABS pump.

The fact I was actually getting a reading 214.83 bar was leaving me hopeful that the sensor settings had been somehow lost.

One day the car was working fine next day on start up the ESP light was illuminated.

Anyone know what the VAG part number would be, if I have that may make things easier witht the dealer.

Bought repair kit K0 698 517 B from a Skoda dealer mail order £205 local dealer wanted £245.

Installed this weekend, ESP light is now extinguished and I can turn the ESP on and Off. Brake pressure at rest now0.3barg

Braking performance appears ok but not convinced ABS is working. I have a gravel drive and skid and dont feel pedal judder.

Can there be another fault in the ABS that is not detectable with diagnostics?

Your abs will not cut in below 3-4 miles per hour find yourself a quiet car park get to 20 and stamp em !!! Then you will know lol

Guys, maybe I'm wrong but according to Elsa - G201 is in master cylinder - not in ABS pump. Check this:

Number 10 on this pic is the G201. And there is how to remove it:

The ABS pump is the last thing which I would think about. I had problems for about 4 mts with ESP light on my MK4 Golf. On the end it was Brake Pressure Release Solenoid which is a part of servo pump (inside).
