Thread: Passat Windows wont open

    Hi all.
    I've just bought a 1998 Passat SE TDi and the none of the windows work. i can hear the window clicking as i use the switch so i think power is ok. Can anyone help suggest what the problem may be please?

    Hi, I had the same problem, just fixed it this evening. under the left footwell carpet there are several joints in the wiring loom that are soldered and taped. it seems water gets in via the pollen filter and rots these connections and they fall apart. the window one has about eight wires. also check window module under carpet is dry.
