Hi all, this forum is new to me and hopefully you can help me identify some parts that I would like to fit to my car. I am after the car which these calipers/carriers would have been fitted to. They are ATE 57mm calipers/carriers and the carriers have a lug mount of 106mm centre to centre with a threaded M12 hole on each lug. The attached pictures are of a friends car running the calipers/carriers on what you can see is a Volvo. If anyone can help identify the calipers and car they came from it would really help me and many other forum users out. You can see that the calipers are a similar design to the current items used in many A4 and VW applications.

Not sure what it could be from, most older vag stuff is 92 (ish) mm centres, A4's with the alloy 'knuckle' use 120+mm centres (off the top of my head) Are you sure they are from a VAG vehicle?

Yes the calipers are from a VAG vehicle. The picture showing the caliper itself shows the engraving/casting marks but the paint the owner put on the calipers filled the VW and Audi logos to the right side. He seems to think they were from a Audi coupe V6 model hence the post in this part of the Forum. They are no where near the mounting lug postions of the newer Vag stuff as my mk4 Golf has different centres as does the Passat V6 4motion carriers. The calipers however do seem to be the same as the newer 57mm ATE calipers used on passats and B5 model cars up till fairly recently. Its a bit of a stumbling block as I would like to sort identification out as that way I could buy a set of carriers from the dealer if need be. Any pointers from anyone would really help.

16v and 2.6 v6 use a single piston caliper with 280mm discs, this could be an ATE caliper similar to what you have posted, however, these can be upgraded to S2/2.8 spec which is Girling 60 twinpot calipers - I know these use 92 (ish) mm centres...?
