    does anyone know where the speed control sensor is on the coupe 8v?
    1998 audi 2.4 se
    2003 audi 2.5 quattro sport
    1995 audi coupe 2.0e
    1995 audi coupe 16v
    2000 audi s4

    it,s the engine speed sensor on the 2.0 8v engine some numbers came up on my mates scan tool no signal ( g28 )
    00513-003 kwp1281 he didn,t know what the code was.

    It is in the distributor and as far as I can tell, is not available as a spare part.

    00513 Engine speed sender G28, No signal.

    Engine cuts out/will not start (fuel pump and injectors deactivated)

    1) Fault in power or earth supply for Hall sender -G40
    2) Open circuit or short to earth/positive in signal wire between -G40 and engine control unit
    3) Hall sender -G40 defective
    4) Signal input in engine control unit defective (control unit defective)

    Notes on fault code 00513:

    Engine control unit receives engine speed information from Hall sender in ignition distributor.
    Hall sender -G40 is monitored instead of engine speed sender -G28.
    Fault code can be ignored with ignition on and engine not running.
    Observe fault code with ignition on following unsuccessful attempted starting (engine does not start).

    Pretty sure i get that with VagCom only when the engine isnt running. Goes away when the engine is on, mines an 8v too.
