Advice Please - Golf Mk3 GTI 8v Sills

Can I be given advice please on the original finish/colour on an early Golf Mk3 GTI for the undersills ? I have seen plastic finishers along the full length of the sill on slightly later cars but need to know if the original finish on these earlier cars was ?

1. Body colour (like my daughters CL)
2. Black .........stonechip?
3. Should it have finishers?

It should have the covers or "side member extensions" as VW call them.

The car I have has had welding done on the sills so the "side members" may have been left off after that work was carried out. I guess like most plastic too there is some deterioration over the passage of time which makes it brittle.

I will see if I can pick some up off E bay unless anyone has any spares? It would be nice to get the vehicle back to how it was originally. This car is very original otherwise. I like to unmodify vehicles rather that the other way round. probably its an age thing !
