The RED brake warning light comes up now and again on my dash, its the one on the LED screen but is also accompanied by the same bulb thats lit when the handbrake is applied, its stays on for a few seconds then clears, I was told this is the pad wear warning but i though that symbol is orange and not RED. Could somebody please put me right cheers...Also checked the brake fluid level and thats ok.............

top up the brake fluid reservoir, remove the cap and gently lift the gauze this will allow you to fill the level to max as the gauze can sometimes prevent the level from rising to max in the main chamber

the fault occurs when cornering as the fluid moves and at first glance the level appears ok but lifting the gauze allows the fluid level to drop

if it occurs when cranking the engine its often a sign of voltage drop at the battery and if the battery is ok there is a modification to bypass the dash warning light when cranking

this involves adding a relay for x relief

Hi, I have a b7 a4 and it does this on startup only. Just had a service. Started happening after the service, got brake pads changed. It only comes in half the time when I start, not every time. Is this going to be battery then?
