Every time i get in my car and the blowers come on they emit a urnine like odour , its quite strong for a few minutes but if you blast them it soon fades and eventualy disapears, until next time.

    Any ideas ?

Its a 2003 A4 3.0 Petrol Quattro Sport with dual zoen climate cotnrol.

I have tried with and without economy mode on and it still smells the same.

Not sure, but i've read post on here (in the passat section, i think) that say the pollen filter lets water in because of a blocked drain hose on the passenger side.

I think it is under the passenger side dash, or just on the other side of the bulkhead.

Hope you sort your wee problem...........ba-dum, chii

    Nick

Does yours have leather? The reason I ask is that I've had my 03 3.0 SE for a few days now and it too will produce a strange smell but I put it down to the Buffalino leather (maybe the poor Buffalo wee'd itself when it was killed...).

See pic, location from front of the car is top right.

Mine stinks of cat ****, though only on the outside (perhaps I need to wash it every now and again). Since new neighbours moved in each with tomcats, I think my Pasty has become their territory borders

If you take the car to a garage and get them to put new air-con filters in and do a clean on the system, this will sort it out!

I had the same issue about a year ago, got it all cleaned and its never come back... no more embaresing questions from passengers who think that its coming from you!
