My 55 plate B6 140bhp passat TDI sport only has 55k on it. However, at the start of the month I got the defective steering column lock fault and a fault with the rear lid latch which I cured at great expense £800 approx! VW Bedford wouldn't accept direct payment from my warranty company - car care plan, so I had to pay it and claim it back for which j still await payment.
That was on Friday. Friday pm they confirmed via the diagnostic that there were no faults.
Sunday morning 11am and about 150 fault free miles later, the car dies with no warning or warning lights coming up. Eventually recovered to garage and faulty injector diagnosed. New loom, injector + 3 hours labour = £800ish. Yet another claim.
I had called VW UK customer services when the steering lock went and got told that as the car was over 5 years old and did not have a full DEALER history they would not consider a goodwill payment. I have a full history but of the 5 services 2 have been done by a prior owner with an independent. I argued this seemed somewhat unfair to no avail but they would look into it nonetheless. Then the injector went so i got another case started with them. I got told VW UK customer services would contact the dealership, find the cost of the parts and get back to me but reassured me that whilst they still were guaranteeing nothing re the first fault, that I would be very pleasantly surprised with what they might offer for the second.???????
Same car, same history, both recognised faults. Two different results - how?????

Why do you think us garages will not deal with warranty companies? We think they are the sporn of the Devil!

Five years old and no full history you stand no chance of goodwill from VAG UK, four years old and full dealer history including buying the car from a dealer then yes, five years and full history maybe, otherwise no chance.

Interesting, that. Basically they will lead you up whatever garden path they can. If they get you believing what they say, you'll cost them less money! The word I like to refer to in these instances is: "Reasonable". i believe that consumer law now dictates that you can service your vehicle at an independent garage as long as they follow the manufacturers' service regime to the letter and the manufacturer must honour the warranty. That sounds reasonable to me. Maybe you should find out more about the independent garage your vehicle was serviced with. See if they are 'Bosch Approved' or such like, and then argue the fact with VWUK? It seems unreasonable to me that they should treat the car differently dependent on how they feel about the fault, rather than the car.

Well, just had a call from VW Bedford to tell me that VW were, as a gesture of goodwill, going to replace the remaining 3 working injectors and wiring loom free of charge. My warranty company will sort out the other injector. Great news!

    Hello all.
I am looking for PKE for VW cars, if someone have any information about it?
With this system you do not have to take your remote out when you approach your car, it will unlock the door when you approaching about 1-1.5metres, and will lock the door automatically when you leave your car.
Does anyone know where to get it?
    Thanks!

You already know where to get it, you've been warned before, now you're being banned and your IP will be blacklisted.

More fool me for giving you a second chance.
