A wierd one, went out to the car this evening and started as usual when I got a DIS message saying "Service Due!"

The car was only serviced 6k ago and I distinctly remember the car showing that there was 8000 miles left until the next service. Now the service interval display displays "service due since 1500 miles" which I can only assume means that its overdue by 1500 miles?

I know the car doesn't need serviced but if I reset it using vcds to the fixed interval that means I'll miss the real interval by 2k when the countdown reaches zero.

Is there anyway of inputting the 8000 miles back into the service reminder?

    Thanks

if you go into adaptions you can set times and milages to whatever you want
scroll down on the list to find distance since service and time since service
be aware some may be set to kilometers

OK, I thought I had this sorted, but to my amazement, I havent.

I managed to correct the 'Days to service' bit, back to 365. But havent managed to input the 8000 miles back in.

As my screen suggests, the max time to mileage is set to 8000, but on the service reminder screen, Car -> Service interval etc. it shows 500 miles to service and 365 days.

Can someone show me what im doing wrong from my screenshot?

Ideally, I would like it: 8000 miles to service and 97 days. (97 days being bang on a year from the last service 7k ago.)

    towcestervag,

I am only reading this thread now and havent since you replied, from my understanding, if I go to Instrument Cluster, Adaption and then Channel 43 I can change the value to 8000 and it should work?

On my T5 Transporter (on the longlife regime) once the 'service in 2000 miles' warning came up it seemed to trip something. I found I couldn't then just clip a few miles off it, I could only reset fully.

You could try resetting using ch 2 (change to zero) then setting up the days and miles individually. It might be your 'service in 1500' warning is messing you about stopping you making the necessary changes.

    Hi there

Thanks for your reply, I changed that value last night and it seemed to reset it completely (the required data for service interval etc etc)

As I said I have already tried customising the interval and have only managed to change the days successfully.

But when I go to change the mileage back to 8000 it ends up saying something stupid like 500 miles to service or 1500 miles since service due?

    Totally confused tbh

Seems odd. I notice you have your oil spec is set to 1. From memory that sounds wrong. I think the longlife oil for diesels is 4 so perhaps it's that it's complaining about?

Don't forget you have to change the values in the blocks in a set order.

Never touched the oil category. Also the car doesn't have an oil inspection countdown either so I haven't touched that bit.

What's the order? I just wish it would be normal again, I'm verging towards taking it to Audi soon to get them to fix it.

I don't even know what broke it in the first place?

Right so tonight I somehow managed to reset it closer to what I want it to be - See image

Also, I made a discovery in my VCDS folder (C/RossTech/VCDS/Debug/SriLog.txt) and low and behold it was the original service values!

So I used these and inputted them in the Adaption channel and followed the instructions for correct order and added the miles from the date when the scan was took and also roughly the mileage completed since then! Woohoo!

Now that the days are correct and mileage is roughly correct, how to I fine tweak it to 8000 without messing the thing up again?

Thanks guys for your replies, highly appreciated!

Post the original SRI Log.txt clip and connect with VCDS for a log of the current values. Just click [SRI Reset] and let it collect the data and use the [Save to logfile] button so you can post the current data, but don't make any changes.
