    hi
we are having trouble with a 2007 touran 2.0tdi.
none of the 12v sockets would work, but rest of the instruments were functioning fine.
I found a blown fuse in slot 30 under the dash.
we changed the fuse for a fresh new one, car started fine, we tried the accessory sockets all round the car with a 12v phone charger and they all worked fine (problem solved we thought...) 30 seconds or so later, the car started running lumpy for a few seconds before stalling.
Now it will turn over fine, but won't fire at all, even for a few seconds, sounds like it has run out of fuel but it has 1/2 a tank...
I believe fuse 30 is the power supply control unit that powers all the instruments? All the other instruments, lights, wipers, radio etc etc all work fine, car just won't start! If I turn it over for more than 5-10 seconds it will come up on the dash with "STOP - Engine Oil Pressure", but I think this is where it is cranking and not firing, rather than the cause of the prob? Car has plenty of oil in it.
Is there any hidden fuse for the power control unit other than those under the dash and bonnet? All the fuses I can find are fine...
Any ideas people? This is driving me crazy!...
    Thanks!

are the fuse and the stalling connected ? who knows, maybe a red herring. the oil thing is common to all vags that won't start. it stops people sitting there cranking them for ages when they will clearly not start. first job really is a code read to see what the ecu says and go from there. i presume the fuse is still ok though ?

thanks for quick reply, i've plugged in with a snapon ethos, which can access the ECU's and read data out fine, but says there are no DTC's stored?

Just as a follow up to this... problem solved.

Turned out to be the fuse we replaced the broken one with! The one that had blown was a 25A one. Not having a 25a one spare, we replaced it with a 30a one. Turns out the electronics are so sensitive on these it must have somehow detected it was a larger fuse and locked out the ECU??

After literally pulling our hair out with it, thinking EGR, timing belt or worse, we borrowed a 25a out of another car, and would you believe it, the car fired straight up.

It's still blowing my mind a little that something so trivial could have such an effect on the car, but there we go!
