OK so I have a 2001 1.8T Q AVJ Engine. I keep getting this error code, clear it and it comes back again. I have no performance issues, no warning lights just this damn code every time I run a check with VCDS Lite. I have looked at the Ross Tech site and can happily say its not an oil pump issue as it's all squeaky clean.

So the question is, should I replace the sensors ?

    Thanks

I would assume only one is going as its the correlation between the two thats throwing up the code, but your guess is as good as mine as to which! Maybe get test procedures for the 2 and see if resistances are off on one?

I think I have answered my own question, the parts are a little expensive to play swap out. With no issues me thinks I shall just leave it for now

On a 1.8T engine this can be an early warning of oil pressure problems (blocked oil pump pick up) and wear in the cam relay chain adjuster which drives the inlet cam from which the G40 is signalled. If the problem progresses the inlet cam can jump on the chain and cause valve to piston contact.
