B8 - Common problems?

So, our 1.8t 160 SE has reached the grand old age of 37 months. And had it's first claim under Warranty Direct. But, other than that and a little sag on the leather on the driver's seat, really looks in excellent condition and game for quite a few more miles to add to its 38k to date.

Speaking to WD, they monitor 'common' faults and it will be interesting to see in a year's time if the motoring press starts to release info on the B8's weak points for buying used. Given that the B8 is now a 'mature' design, the weak points must be fairly well known.

Looking at our early model's faults since new, some definitely seem to be common to others.Any more?

Octopuss staining on Xenon headlights (replacement units, design change)
Water ingress on rear light (one off defect)
Boot lid opening with the speed of a Typhoon fighter (fault on early models)
Battery failure (software update to prevent drain)
Headlamp washer stuck (one off defect?)
Air con pressure sensor failure ( known weak point on early models)

Fuel filler caps appear to jam shut

The faults I've had that Audi said are common were;
Headlamp Staining
Fuel Flap Solenoid
Battery
Air Con Pressure Sensor
Clutch & DM Flywheel

Have also still got the voilent boot release, I am expecting it to fly over the car one day.


Other problems were various rattles & knocking noises, DPF, Wheel Bearings, Central Locking, Cabin Switches and a couple of Control Modules/Software.

My issues :

3G nav s/w isn't perfect
1st/2nd gear are sometimes a bit stiff .... but not always.

Not my car but thought I would add anyway,

The A4 courtesy car I had out had a very jerky S-Tronic 'box, particualry between 3rd to 4th. It was a 2010 3.0TDI with 10,000 miles (around that).

The CD player in Tech Pack Low was stuck (CD stuck in it) and also there were alot of vibrations from the front passenger floor area.
