    hi guys

first post so here i go please be nice.

i have a 2001 Passat TDI 130bhp and driving home last night and set off from some traffic lights (not too fast) and noticed the power wasnt there. then kept my foot down to wake it up and the turbo only cut in at 3500 then it really cut in and it flew.

after this a bit later on i was trying to accelerate on a dual carriageway and the turbo had dissapeared all together.

i have never seen any smoke from the back.

and when i set off from work this morning it worked but still only at 3500rpm.

i have heard it could be the N75 solonoid but where is this and what pipes are common if any to split.

look forward to hearing from you guys.

    many thanks
    Pete

It could also be your MAF sensor. Start by unplugging it and see how it runs.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

If you follow the small rubber/braided tube from the actuator valve on the turbo body, the other end connects to the N75 boost control valve.

Check all the tubes connected to the valve for leaks, blockages or disconnection etc.

Also check the acutor rod for the turbo vnt mechanism moves ok, by observing if it moves as the car is started or revved, or trying to move it by hand.

Well really it could do with plugging into vagcom and having the engine data logged this will give you all the information you need, turbo pressure,MAF readings, Temp..
Also any fault codes logged could be looked at and cleared.
