The engine in my Golf is EZ 1595cc, which I would imagine is very similar to yours in design and construction. On your scale my Golf isn't even broken in at 127k!

Hello Fellow Audi and VW Owners,

I am Donald Kuk, the proud owner of a 1997 Audi A4 2.8L 5sp. This car is my city car, driven mostly in midtown Manhattan, where parking is scarce or none, and every valet aspires to be a Formula 1 racing champion, spinning the tires with every gear shift and racing the cars all the way up, and then all the way back down the parking ramps.

In this unusually hostile driving environment, I have driven my A4 500,387 trouble free miles. The engine and transmission are untouched and unmolested, except for spark plugs, cam belts, filters, and one battery replacement.

My daughter and I just completed an 11,207 mile trip around the United States covering 34 states and 21 National Parks in 33 days while averaging 29.47 MPG!

The car is extremely well documented and known all the way to Rupert Statler (Chairman of the Board at Audi AG) having been maintained exclusively by Paul Baglow at Langan Audi.

    Hey Pete,

    No joke...

My car is known throughout Audi.

Yes, Rupert Statler knows well this car.

It is the subject of An upcoming video from Audi.

    Stay tuned and stop laughing.

C'mon Stuart-- a bit of humour now and again does not do any harm at all. If people are offended by a reply- all they have to do is 'say so' and a apology would I'm sure be forthcoming.
Lots of people are leaving this forum because of 'mods' personal views- which dont really reflect the majority or members views.
America- Uk -- cultural differences are rife- but- I have as yet to hear anyone but mods complaining .
Take a step back and maybe think 'outside the box' now and again.
Nothing at all is said in nastiness at all.
Some really good helpful members have left this forum because of the reasons I've mentioned .
Lets not lose any more please .
    Regards,
    Pete

    Good Day Friends,

I am sending Stuart a couple of additional Photos.

One is of a cetificate sent to me by Michele Baker, Director of Audi of America Customer care, celebrating my A4's mileage at the last service, the half million mile check up.

At that time, the mileage was 498,507 as memorialized by Audi of America on their award.

Michele can be reached at Audi Customer Care at 800 822 2834 extension 43397 in order to authenticate my car's history, which simply is as I have already stated.

Pete, as a new member unfamiliar with the club's tools, would you kindly assist me by putting my 1997 A4 at the very top of the Audi high mileage list where it so rightly belongs?

    Respectfully,
    Don
