    Hi,

My turbo failed a little while ago, got a reconditioned one and picked the car up from the garage yesterday. On the A406 north circular around London, the car began revving itself to the redline and billowing out tons of white smoke. I turned the car off (with the key, not stalling it in gear) and turned it back on for it to do the same thing.

Got towed home, and now it looks like the recon turbo wasn't sealed correctly i think.

Anyway, im thinking of getting my money back for the turbo and going for a completely new engine. Does anyone know what engine codes will be a straight replacement for the BLB engine?

What would need changing over? wiring looms?

    Thanks for any replies given,

    Best regards,

    ~Fahim.

You mean you want a second hand BLB replacement? Unfortunately so do a lot of other people. The BLB was only used between 7/04 and 11/05 and only a BNA is a direct replacement. The bottom end is unique to the BLB and BNA but the same head is used on many VAG vehicles.

Why would you want to swap the entire engine when you have already had the pump converted??
