Last summer i was having an issue with the air con. When i was driving on motorway it was fine but when travelling at low speeds <30 i could feel myself getting warmer.

Well this summer it has completely stopped working. The fans work fine but not much cool air comes out when it 20C+ out there.

If anyone can advise what i can check and or recommend a specialist in Leicester area it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi. I had the same symptoms on mine.

Garage said first that it was possible a seal has gone and the gas had bled out. They regassesd it to test this theory and look for leaks. Unfortunately none appeared.

They then thought it was the compressor (which would have been £500+ from memory) but when they checked the voltages to the pump they found it was too low and traced the fault back to the control relay. Which was only £90 plus fitting.

Can't help with a garage recommendation in Leics I'm afraid but I found one local to me by searching the forum and site sponsor links. He's great and soooo much better service, and prices, than my local main dealer.

    Cheers

I started to troubleshoot this problem by checking the fuses. The following fuses have blown:-

Fuse 12. Data Link Connector (DLC) power supply (7.5A). and
Fuse S164. Coolant fan control (FC) control module/coolant fan (40A) this is in the fuse bracket/battery.

So off i went to halfords at lunchtime and i found the micro 7.5a blade without a problem but no sales assistant could help me with fuse S164. So i'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me the offical name of the fuses that sit in the fuse bracket on top of the battery please so i can get hold of a couple please? Also to replace this fuse do i need to disconnect the battery?

    Many Thanks In Advance.
