    If you make an audio recording of the sound, publish the file somewhere online (eg, Audioboo) and post a link here to the file, that would help. Hearing the sound a lot easier than figuring out a written description. :-)

    Possibly the Belt noisy. Just a guess from your description ! It still may be servicable.
