I had a strange experience today. I was driving home from work and as I turned into my road - about 15-20MPH - I tried to accelerate, but the engine revs just went straight up and I didn't seem to have any drive, like clutch slip or not in gear. The dash display said I was in 3rd gear. I lifted off the gas and tried again and it seemed to be OK again.

I then only drove another 400 yards to my house, without issue.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Get it serviced if it's over 40k, you should get updated FW as well, mine does this when quick changing from reverse to forward.

I was just wondering if there is another known DSG issue.
I already had three replacement mechatronic units, then a new gearbox at 56k. It's now done 107k.

What is the service history of the box Dave, how many oil changes has it had since the last box was fitted?

It hasn't had an oil change since replacement.

Can't say for sure if it is that, but you are 11k over the recommended so it's feasable the filter is dirty and restricting the flow, if you want a "cheap" try you could go get a new filter and some DSG oil (enough for a filter soak) and do just that, put the new filter in a bowl of oil and let it fully soak in, then just replace the filter, that way you get a like for like capacity without spending the £180 for a full oil and filter change, personally I think it's the filter more than the oil that demands the DSG service.
