    Hi,

Got a 10 reg A3 1.6TDI SE with Bluetooth and the above mentioned audio. I do a load of miles on the motorway now, so need something more than just the radio and CD.

So can I add an iphone lead to this model, can't find any info in the manual, so I'm guessing not.

If not, what options do I have?

Are there after market head units I could fit, but keep the steering wheel controls and the bluetooth phone?? My previous A4 had an SD slot, which I used loads, so really missing the ability to listen to my music.

    Thanks in adance.

    Gary

What about fitting something like an xcarlink/connect2 aftermarket adapter? I don't know about the Concert radio that the new A3 has, but I have the Concert II and as the bluetooth is connected to a different socket on the head unit, I can just plug in the aftermarket adapter into the cd changer socket and keep everything the same. I'm afraid that I have no idea about the replacement head units but I get the impression that it's a lot more complicated because of the wiring involved and the various amplifiers, so I decided against this myself.

Thanks for that. The xcarlink looks interesting, and seemingly compatible with my stereo, so will investigate further. Can't find anything on the connect2, google comes up wih some odd sites.

I have googled replacing the head unit, and you are right, looks like nigh on impossible, so looking like xcarlink the way to go.

    Cheers.

Sorry Bloater, I gave you the wrong name. It is Connects2. Their website is: http://www.connects2.co.uk/ I get the impression that connects2 may be cheaper than xcarlink but the items appear to be very similar.
I bought mine from Dynamic Sounds (through Amazon as it was cheaper than their website and their ebay store). You could ask them for advice or I found my local hands free/audio installer (recommended by the dealer) was very helpful with the aftermarket and head unit options available.
